《拉瑞·克劳》由汤姆·汉克斯自导自演。　　海军退伍之后，拉瑞（汤姆·汉克斯 Tom Hanks 饰）勤勤恳恳在卖场工作了20几年。他为人和善，几乎从不发脾气，是明星工作人员，顾客喜欢他，老板也对他颇为赏识。可是裁员风暴还是让他失去了工作。空闲的他向当地社区里的大学报了名，并很快就和各色人等结成了好朋友。有流浪汉、有贫民窟的孩子，大家都希望到这里改善自己的生活。在公共演讲的课堂上，拉瑞出乎意料地爱上了自己的老师梅赛德斯（朱莉娅·罗伯茨 Julia Roberts 饰）。但她是一个已婚女子，并且她把自己的精力都放在了教学上，无暇顾及学生的爱慕。现在，一切难题似乎都到了拉瑞的身上......Until he was downsized, affable, amiable Larry Crowne (Hanks) was a superstar team leader at the big-box company where he's worked since his time in the Navy. Underwater on his mortgage and unclear on what to do with his suddenly free days, Larry heads to his local college to start over. There he becomes part of a colorful community of outcasts, also-rans and the overlooked all trying to find a better future for themselves...often moving around town in a herd of scooters. In his public-speaking class, Larry develops an unexpected crush on his teacher Mercedes Tainot (Roberts), who has lost as much passion for teaching as she has for her husband. The simple guy who has every reason to think his life has stalled will come to learn an unexpected lesson: when you think everything worth having has passed you by, you just might discover your reason to live.
